R 66 Press Release
Per the attached RHC Press Release dated February 9, 2010, RHC has released preliminary specifications for the R66.

We are delighted to advise you that the long awaited Robinson R66 turbine helicopter is progressing fast to certification and that we are now taking orders.
The R66 incorporates many of the design features of its reputable predecessor, the R44, including a two bladed rotor system, T-bar cyclic and an open interior cabin configuration, enhanced by a fifth seat and a large baggage compartment. The newly developed turbine engine, the RR300, will deliver increased overall performance in terms of reserve power, altitude performance and speed. Popular updates including HID landing lights, leather seats, and a stereo audio control panel are standard in the R66.

The following data is taken directly from the RHC press release which specifically states that "R66 SPECIFICATIONS ARE BASED ON PRELIMINARY TEST DATA AND ARE SUBJECT TO CHANGE"
Weights:
Gross Weight - 2,700 lbs
Empty Weight (incl oil & avionics) - 1,280 lbs
Max Fuel (73.6 gal) - 493 lbs
Passengers and Baggage (with max fuel) - 927 lbs
Performance:
Cruise Speed - approx 120 kts
Max Range (no reserve) - approx 325 nm / 375 statute miles
Hover Ceiling IGE - over 10,000 ft
Hover Ceiling OGE - over 10,000 ft
Rate of Climb - over 1,000 fpm
Max Operating Altitude - 14,000 ft

The ex-factory base price for the R66, inclusive of a high level of standard equipment, is US$770,000. A deposit of US$75,000 is required with each order. Although delivery dates are yet to be confirmed, delivery slots will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. In response to customer feedback, Robinson Helicopter Company will be offering Air Conditioning as an option on the initially certificated R66 Turbine. The price and weight are yet to be determined but we are now accepting orders for the R66 with Air Conditioning.
